Wednesday Again Free Rangers,

And almost closing time at that. It’s not supposed to be the communication schedule, but I’m the editor, and hopefully that guy won’t fire me over this repeated slide from week’s dawn to hump day newsletters. There will soon be a serious internal meeting and we’ll get to the bottom of this, but for now let’s work with what we have, shall we?

So, cellar finds and inventory projects abound, and new revelations will hit the website and sale pages announced and linked here in this space for some time to come. First, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon has long been one of the great American Bourbons- and a regular staple on my own bar- with all releases achieving a fairly high minimum, and the very best of them rivaling the greatest American whiskeys of which we are aware. According to the current tally we have 13 releases currently in stock: Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon A121, A122, A123, B517, B518, B519, B520, B521, B522, B523, C921, C922, C923. This week only, they’re all 10% off right here:

From Ridge Vineyards, a pile of Geyserville 2018 and Lytton Springs 2019 were lost in the distributor’s cellar (warehouse really), and several cases of Ridge Lytton Springs 375ml were buried in the depths of ours (at the old spot). So, click the link below for 10% off or 25% off 6+ bottles (mix & match) on Geyservile ’18 and Lytton ’19, w/ free wine tote of course. On this page, you’ll also find a significantly discounted four vintage vertical collection of said Ridge Lytton Springs 375ml: 1 bottle each Ridge Lytton Springs 2013201420152016. The best vintages of these wines age well for decades, and this is a lovely snapshot of old school old vine CA wine growing at around a decade in bottle, when one really starts to see who they are. To extend the vertical tasting, add a bottle of the 2019, which showed to be surprisingly high toned yet fully integrated, recently in the shop. It’s difficult to recall the last Lytton Springs that drank as well in its youth. Check out the sale page here:

And the FREE in-store tasting program rolls on. In fact, you can just assume that there’s a tasting every Thursday 5-7pm, because we already have them scheduled out through the next couple of months and plan to continue this course for the foreseeable future. Speaking of which, if we already buy wine and/or spirits from you, there are free Thursdays ahead in your schedule (May, June, July), and you want to come pour for our people, please ping me (and or Derek) about that.

So, tomorrow, Thursday (5-7pm), please join our FREE in-store tasting with Social Hour and put palate on two of our favorite canned cocktails: Social Hour Yuzu Sunset Fizz, which tastes a lot like a high rent Sunkist & Campari, and Social Hour Harvest Whiskey Sour, a lightly spicy, cidery 20% abv cocktail made with Dickel 13 Year Whiskey! 10% off, tasting day only!

Cheers,

Jack
