Hello Free Rangers,

Bit of housekeeping this week. Which is fine, as the paragraph that was previously accreting for this space sucks. So, we have two separate systems here at Free Range: the online system for the website and the in-store POS (Point of Sale, for those not in the business- though LightSpeed is also [the other kind of] a POS). So, when we (Derek) create(s) a sale page online that is linked here in e-mail space, those sales are online only and don’t often appear in the shop. We do also occasionally have sales in the shop that are not accessible online, and we always have rare allocated whiskey hidden away for you fine regulars and e-mail listers. This past weekend we had in the shop a table of sale priced whiskeys, some of which are on the current SUPER SALE page, and some that were added in-store only. It was so popular that we’re going to continue the practice as far as our limited sales floor space allows. We are pricing everything there at the lowest in town (to the best of our knowledge) and the bottles that find their way there vary wildly in style and price. Latest whiskey additions include three of our all-time favorite Irish Whiskeys: Yellow Spot 12yr, Red Spot 15yr, and Green Spot Leoville Barton Cask; new Super Sale wines include Shea Estate Pinot Noir 2019Ridge Estate Cab 2020, and a bunch of Mags and 3L by Domaine Serene and Ken Wright ’05 – ’08! Something will surprise you. Come see.

Now, this week’s FREE in-store tasting is with our friend, Amanda, who will be here in the shop this ThursdayFebruary 29 (5-7pm), to pour you FREE tastes of our go-to German bottles, Rebholz bone dry, mineral driven, and pristine as the driven snow Riesling and Pinot Blanc, as well as the insanely rare (and surprisingly deep) Rebholz Rosé of Pinot Noir! As an added bonus, you’ll also get to taste the medium sweet, delightfully balanced, and absolutely delicious Mönchhof Riesling Spätlese (which we’ve tasted but has not yet arrived, hence not pictured below). All of the above are 10% off20% off 6+ bottles (mix & match), tasting day only!

Unrelated to anything else, we came across a coupla cases of our own Free Range Larceny Bourbon Single Barrel from 2021. At some point, the remaining bottles will be reinserted into the Matrix at a higher price (as these were the last Larceny private barrels that ever came to NY!), but for you fine e-mail listers this week only, just ask at the counter and you’ll get a bottle at the original shelf price of $39!

Cheers,

Jack
