Live and learn. I know it’s a thing that people say, but it’s one of the truest. Any real student of any game is always learning, including the world’s foremost experts. If you’re paying the barest of attention to your field, your life, and/or the world around you and haven’t learned anything today, you might not be doing it right. Even if the world weren’t constantly and rapidly evolving, altering the intersection of landscapes every time we blink, there would still be centuries worth of catching up to do. I won’t throw another essay on John Steinbeck at you, but you know what I’m saying. This is why I am so mistrustful of people who are absolutely certain of just about anything. Those also tend to be the folks who seek to dictate how the rest of us live the minutia of our daily lives, which isn’t cool. I don’t tell them how to access their inner flying spaghetti monster(s).
So, we’re still requiring masks for in-store shopping. We are well aware that most people here are vaccinated, and that in our fair city (and state, for the most part) the virus is as under control as it is anywhere. At this point our main reason for maintaining these policies is to avoid having to be the arbiter of who is and who is not properly vaccinated. We are open 1-8pm daily, but as always, we rarely close on time, so it’s worth a call if you think it’s getting late. At this point in the burgeoning re-opening of everything, I feel like we’re all rescue dogs learning how to dog again, but ya know, for people-ing. So, go easy on each other, and ask friends and neighbors how they’re doing. Getting by is still the new kicking ass.
As the very last of the pandemic pricing quantity discounts were evaporating, we snatched up a dozen cases of our old friend, the Ridge Vineyards Thee Valleys zin-based blend. So, this week’s flash sale is a reprise of that same deal we were able to offer back in the fall. For the few of you who aren’t familiar, it’s a big, bold, dry red perfect for hearty meals (BBQ!), under one of CA’s most iconic labels. Usually residing on our shelves at $29 per bottle, we’re offering them at $25 this week. If you want to spring for a 6-pack at the best possible price of $21 per bottle, we’ll throw in a FREE wine tote, and one FREE bonus bottle from my personal collection (which could be literally anything)!
