The rain is gone. Well, it’s the middle of the summer, deep into a global climate crisis, so the rain comes and goes at momentary whim, and once in a century weather events are piling up with disturbing frequency. I’ve lived in so many places where the locals say, “If you don’t like weather, wait fifteen minutes,” from New England to Florida. Seattle, however, had only two kinds of weather: perfectly clear and temperate May through September, and overcast with pervasive hovering misty rain all the rest of the time. But when it was soggy in the city, it was snowing in the mountains. It was glorious.
This week’s FREE in-store tasting will feature some very high quality liqueurs by Rothman & Winter, which are specifically called for in a number of the finest cocktail books ever bound. We’ll be showing them straight, as well as in simple cocktail form with crisp clean bubbles. Many great summer cocktails can be quickly thrown together with an ounce of lovely liqueur, topped with a cold prosecco, cava, or cremant. If you’re feeling fancy, a rolled up mint leaf in a single raspberry adds a dash of color and aromatics with minimal effort. This Thursday 5-7pm, come taste Rothman & Winter Apricot, Peach, and Creme de Violette Liqueurs. All 3 are 10% off, tasting day only!
By popular demand, we’ve extended our Free Range Elijah Craig Single Barrel(s) sale for another week. And as a reminder, you’re more than welcome to purchase when we have our sales even if you’re out of town for a while, and we’ll gladly hold them for you until you return. In case you missed it, here’s the deal:
We just received our latest Elijah Craig Free Range Single Barrel Bourbon. It’s a 10 year from the top floor (7th) of Rickhouse P and it’s a delicious, classic American Bourbon. We got lucky on this one, friends and neighbors, and this is very likely our last new Free Range Single Barrel from Kentucky for some time. Though more local projects remain in the works.
The new EC FR 10yr just hit the shelf at $49 per bottle, but you can grab ‘em online this week only for $39 per bottle. We also have a limited number of 3 bottle sets including one of the new 10 year plus one each our two different 8 year Elijah Craig FR Bourbon(s) from last year for $99. Click the link(s) below to secure your bottles!
