Wow Free Rangers,

Thanks for the impressive response, given the typo (my bad!) and the confusion. And a thousand apologies for the unprecedented 2nd e-mail in 2 days. Let me explain. The Top Top Top 3-pack was listed correctly at the bottom of the e-mail and on the sale page online, but was erroneously listed as a 6-pack in the body of the original e-mail, which has been corrected below.

So, anybody who purchased the Top Top Top 3-pack believing it to be 6 bottles for $349, who would like a full refund, we are more than happy to do that. No hard feelings (on this end). We’ve been in touch with many of you, and don’t expect many takers, but honor requires that we offer you an out. We have never tricked anybody into buying something they didn’t intend, and we won’t start now. Those of you who still want your Top Top Top 3-pack(s) will find some extra treats in those bags.

Also, we’ve added a few more of each category of Magical Mystery packs, so a few more of you can get a shot at this round.

Happy Hunting,
Jack

**************************************************************************

First, for everybody who ever asked, “what do I get for being on your list?” then declined after our pitch, we’re giving away a pair of FREE tickets to (the extremely the sold-out) Majority Report Live at the Bell House this Saturday March 26th at 2pm !! No kidding. If you would like said pair of tickets, please reply to this e-mail and say so, and one will be randomly selected in the next couple of days. What, why? Because this is fun, and Majority Report with Sam Seder is one the best things ever. #LeftIsBest

And now, this:
It’s that time again, folks! Step right this way…

For those of you who are newer to the list, welcome to a Free Range Magical Mystery pack offer! Every so often, we pull together a batch of older bottles, from my unruly personal collection, and from the considerable depths of the cellar here at the shop, and offer them out in randomly packed Free Range bottle totes for far below their fair market value.

This round will be not only Pacific NW heavy, but entirely American red wine, and lots of OR Pinot Noir specifically. You can expect retail value to significantly exceed your per bottle price, but many of these are so rare in these vintages that it’s difficult to corroborate value with none available at retail anywhere in the world. All wines are a minimum of 10 years since harvest, and many are 20+ years in bottle. Absolutely none of these are cast-offs, and the vast majority were originally purchased with personal consumption in mind, but as we’ve discussed, I own far more wine than one could ever possibly consume. Most of these are from parcels from which we’ve recently tasted, and everything is showing quite well, including those with glass corks, a quizzical relic from the mid-aughts west coast wine industry. I highly recommend 30-50 minutes of air after opening most of these prior to consumption. And don’t even try and tell me that one of your glass enclosure bottles was corked. But seriously, always let us know if you believe a wine you receive is flawed, and we’ll take a look/sniff and make it right.

A number of you have mentioned having been intrigued by previous Magical Mystery offers, but weren’t ready to commit to a 6-pack, so for the first time, we’re offering a bite-sized 2-bottle Magical Mystery pack.

2-packs will have at least 1 OR Pinot Noir, if you’d specifically prefer 2 Pinot Noir, please put that in the notes, and we’ll do our best to accommodate. A significant portion of these bottles are Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet by Sineann and Owen Roe vintages 2001-2010.

6-packs will have the same sort of selection as 2-packs, just more of them, and at a slightly better price to you. Expect very high quality per dollar, as that is the main metric that guides my personal wine consumption.

Reserve 6-packs will include wines of similar origin as above, all American reds, with a lean toward OR and WA but of the next level, including key vintages and vineyards of the above as well as wine by Ken Wright, Siduri, and a handful of California classics. This is level at which I personally drink most often, and these packs are populated with a number of labels I’ve been enjoying for many years.

Top Top Top 3-packs will include some of the rarest bottles and most sought after labels in the land, from the likes of Quilceda, Saxum, Domaine Serene, and Cayuse, all representing world-class drinking and intrigue. The retail value of these packs will far exceed the price tag, and include some of the finest American producers of whose existence I am aware.

There are not a ton to go around, so if you want in, please click through sooner than later, but as always, please feel free to hit us with any questions.
