Hey Free Rangers,
Last Sunday would have been Michael Brooks’ 40th birthday. He was the most effective leftist communicator of our time, and for a man I never met, I miss him profoundly. At the core of everything he said and did was this: Be kind to people, be ruthless to systems. Micheal Brooks had the ability to connect core ideas with vastly different groups and people. He was a genuine beacon of intellectual hope and he pursued justice for all in the most fulsome sense. He was also one of the funniest and most creative humans I’ve ever heard. I will be raising glasses to his memory and poorly attempting to uphold his ideals as long as I breathe. Here’s a talk he gave at Lafayette College in 2020; a lovely snapshot of who he was and what he stood for. Cheers.
Now, to the booze. Well, our TWO DOLLARS sale rolls on, with new additions all offered at a mere two dollars above our cost. No spoilers.

Also, one of my favorite pastimes these days is sending lists from my personal collection to auction houses in attempts to cull my unwieldy total of cases possessed. Wine has found its way into my collection that showed potential for greater drinking later in life, regardless of the price paid and future value ahead. As the auction market is its own animal with its own particular set of values and buyers, many beautiful bottles are simply overlooked, undervalued, or just not collected by many others. And if I’m going to be giving gorgeous wine away at little to no profit, it’s going to be to you all, not some random faceless online bidder. With that, here are some of my favorite cellar selections at a serious discount, mostly purchased upon release and stashed in professional storage until now. Click the link below to see the full list, including 2011 Eyrie Estate Pinot, one of our all-time favorite Brunello(s), two vintages of Shafer Hillside Select, and 10 year old Ridge Geyserville and Lytton Springs for less than the price of new ones! You’re gonna want to click below to see the full list of cellar gems, all well into peak drinking. Happy hunting!
