Ya Know Free Rangers,

[Can’t believe this didn’t go out yesterday, but it was a truly ________ one in here. (wrong answers only)]

Somedays holding onto a single strand of thought is what Willie Stargell said of batting against Sandy Koufax, ‘You ever try drinking coffee with a fork?” Spirogyratic synapses sputtering broken signals into the fractal ether without ever actually locating, or connecting to, another. Perhaps this results from waking up on the wrong side of the Central Finite Curve. Sometimes the bad days may take their grip. Sometimes the good guys lose indeed.

Spent the morning writing F-U letters, which is only enjoyable in measured proportions, not so much as the spigot of necessity, which sounds like a truly awful Zappa cover band. And we would never do that to Frank… er, Mr. Zappa. The bar for the middle tier of this state’s 3-tier booze biz (importer-wholesaler-retailer) is currently a league or two into the darkest cavern in the foothills of the abyss, and the number we can count on to regularly get things right is in the single digits. Just getting basic information, let alone actual assistance in procuring and selling the items in question, is like brain surgery behind enemy lines, while your surgeons are constantly being replaced mid-cut. No names shall be spoken today, but a number of M’er F’ers are well on notice. And at the current pace, more heads may roll that we have e-mails in a week.

I promised myself this wouldn’t be another consecutive note of darker tone, but hey, everybody else is lying to me (mostly just distributors), so I thought I’d get in on it. Now that I’m here, I really don’t see the appeal. And I’m certainly not going to fire me over it, as so many have before. As always the squeakiest of wheels drown out the rest… of the convoy? I dunno, I’m not a truck guy, I’m a (jack)Jew from New York, and that metaphor was off the rails from the start. [insert rimshot about here]

So, this week’s FREE in-store tasting is with our most recent tequila acquisition, Siete Leguas, an old school family distillery founded in 1952 and currently run by the son of said founder. They produce absolutely delicious additive free tahona Tequila in the most natural and traditional of methods. It is also a fairly poorly kept secret that this distillery was the original source of Patron, before that label became a huge crappy brand targeted toward the densest meatheads at the club. You really should come down and taste with us, if you dig tequila, your palate will immediately recognize that this juice is the genuine article. Please join us TODAY, Thursday, September 19th (5-7pm) for FREE tastes of Siete Leguas Blanco, Siete Leguas Reposado, and Siete Leguas Anejo. All three are 10% off on the website all week, and in store on tasting day.
