There’s nothing like the perspective of distance, and I hadn’t gotten away in quite some time. This was complicated by the distance and nature of the travel, via a deeply under construction airport and a comically under construction airport. Our collective infrastructure is taxed beyond all reasonable capacity, and under brutal update, which will likely be completed just in time for a committee to be formed to meet and decide that we are in fact once again taxed beyond all reasonable capacity, and begin the destruction/renovation cycle anew. But I’m sure it’s fine.
The Q4 quickening is upon us again, my friends, and it really seems as if we were just here only moments ago, in a very similar timeline. As glorious as it was to (my sad facsimile of) unplug(ging) in a different time zone for a few days, it was equally and oppositely crushing upon return. The greater to-do list whose accomplishments were planned/hoped for some date prior to yesterday remains an unforgiving bastard stepchild of the Dead Sea Scrolls and Kerouac’s original one pager. Wish me luck. Good fortune to us all, in the wars to come.
