Ya Know Free Rangers,

Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes the bear leaves a steaming pile of trash in the tree planters in front of your shop every freakin’ time you turn around for the better part of open hours for an entire day (and it isn’t even during the godforsaken street fair). And there are multiple trash cans in view of each, some within literal spitting distance. One really has to want to throw trash around. It’s a choice that so many make in so many moments and places to not only not give a shit about anybody else, but to actively make the immediate world a trashier place. It’s been a week already. My misery, however, has never enjoyed company, and when the world has turned and left me here, I like to try and focus on you fine folks who come in and tell us that one of the notes made your day, or there was a story that you could really relate to from your days in service industry, or that you and your partner enjoy reading them aloud to each other. These moments– and getting to talk to all of your four legged friends (and the occasional three legged)- are really the only things keeping me out of the abyss. Seriously, thank you.

This week is a double (Free in-store) taster, here on the Range. First, back by popular demand, we’ve juts re-upped (though not yet created shelf space for), a full line of Brooklyn’s own Fort Hamilton bottles. While we’ve carried several of their whiskeys in the past, we’ve added the clear stuff this time. Please join us and proprietor, Alex Clark, tomorrow, Thursday, October 17th (5-7pm) for FREE tastes of Fort Hamilton Fortess Vodka, New World Dry Gin, Single Barrel Bourbon, and Single Barrel Rye. These are local products of quality and integrity, the fees for which are quite reasonable for the work and intent that went in. All Fort Hamilton bottles in stock are 10% off in store on tasting day, and all week on the website:

But that’s not all, Free Rangers! On saturday we’re going old school with a FREE in-store tasting of the core line of Four Roses Bourbon. As far as we’re concerned, this is classic Kentucky Bourbon of the highest order (per dollar spent), and my afternoon at the distillery with industry legend, Al Young (RIP), remains one of the best days of this weird little career. This Saturday, October 19th (5-7pm), please join us for FREE tastes of Four Roses Bourbon (formerly known as ‘Yellow Label’), Four Roses Small Batch, Single Barrel, and Small Batch Select. All Four Roses bottles in stock are 10% off in store on tasting day, and all week on the website:
