Hey Free Rangers,

A great way to proceed directly to questioning your own structural intelligence and grasp of the reality of the world around you is to immerse yourself in bureaucratic and legal documents. This month includes a liquor license renewal, healthcare insurance onboarding, and building related stuff, about which I’m just coming to understand. It’s amazing how many industries and departments throw around fairly specific yet wholly obscure abbreviations and acronyms for things that particularly and solely refer to minutia that they assume you understand. I have googled so many of them that I’ve had to keep a list for referral. Our robot overlords were already winning, and these deliberately antiquated analog machinations only bolster their inevitable cause.… seriously, I have to snail mail original copies of our NYSLA (NY State Liquor Authority) documents to a physical lockbox in Buffalo, here in this foul year of our lord two thousand and twenty-five, and yet computers have been a thing for decades now. … A more positive note was planned for this space, this time, but there’s just so long one can really listen to one’s own thoughts, fueled by mind-numbing government and corporate forms, before tripping a tape loop and getting stuck. But I’m a smiling on the inside kind of clown anyway, I suppose. Don’t blame me, I voted for Kodos. Wait, what was the question?

Apologies to the wine nerds for the overrepresentation of spirits lately, especially whiskey. We’re planning ahead in the calendar with an eye toward evenly alternating between wine and spirits for sales and in-store tastings. Also some fun vertical (same wine different vintages) and horizontal (closely related wines from the same vintage and/or vineyard(-ish)) packs in the near future, but just so you don’t feel left out this week- ahead of more whiskey sales- how ‘bout a mix & match on 15 of our favorites from the old & rare rack? Please enjoy any combination of bottles on the below linked page at 10% off all, 15% off 6+ bottles, or 30% off 12+ bottles. Here you’ll find some classic Chablis, a couple of Central Coast Group Project 2014s, some Paolo Bea (and secret Paolo Bea) skin contact white(s), and American, Aussie, and Spanish reds with 10+ years in bottle. Full list and descriptions available via the link below.

*** Every 6+ bottle purchase gets one FREE magical mystery bottle from my personal collection, which could be literally anything (these days we’re drinking a lot of American Syrah, Merlot, and Pinot Noir with 10-30 years in bottle- so highly likely one of these).

As always, we’re happy to hold your sale purchases until after your dry January, and/or for when you’re next in town to pick up, so don’t let restraint or geography hold you back! And as always, please feel free to reply here with any questions about the wines in question.

Cheers,
