Hey Free Rangers,
*Apologies to non-New Yorkers for the exclusive nature of this note.*
Let’s talk about the imminent primary election for Mayor of NYC. While two of the dumbest, thuggiest, more cops are the answer type ‘D’s (who look a lot like ‘R’s), are the highest name recognition candidates, for the first time in a long time we have the opportunity to nominate an actual progressive. Zohran Mamdani has the best interest of every New Yorker at heart in a way that is crushingly rare in modern politics. While I identify as independent, I register Democrat to vote in the primaries by which we effectively choose our general election winners, in this fairly blue state. If you are not already registered, unfortunately it’s too late for this round. If you are registered, it is important not only to vote for Zohran Mamdani first- a true progressive with a real track record- but to understand the rank choice voting system, and fill out all 5 choices without ranking dangerous dumb thug (and silver spoon nepo-baby) Andrew Cuomo at all. This jackass was the governor when he solidified all the policies that caused the issues he’s claiming we have that only he can fix. Little Mario’s kid, Andrew, was also credibly accused of sexual harassment by multiple women, over which he resigned as Governor. He clearly thinks that we all are as dumb as Eric Adams. Vote Zohran Mamdani!
Election Day is June 24, but early voting begins June 14th. To find your polling place, click here: Vote NYC Polling! To find out if you are registered, click here: Vote NYC – Am I Registered?
Now, this week’s FREE in-store tasting welcomes back to the shop our pal, John Grammer of Skin Contact Wines. John’s portfolio is populated exclusively with winemakers whose sincerity and stewardship of the Earth is equaled by the deliciousness of the content of their bottles. This week, John will be showing 3 Biodynamic French wine(s), including our go-to grower Champagne. Please join us this Thursday, June 12th (5-7pm) for FREE tastes of these clean and delicious French delights: Mittnacht Freres Riesling ‘Les Fossiles’ 2023, Bob Singlar Rouge (a fresh chill able red), and the previously promised delicious Champagne, Marteaux Guillaume L’Indigene 2018. As usual, all tasting day bottles are 10% off in-store on tasting day only!
And while it’s true that a few of the rarest items on the ever evolving Sale of Sales have vanished forever(?), brand new additions include the wholly organic and super rare 123 Tequila Diablito Extra Anejo and 123 Tequila Dialblito Rojo available now at below previous wholesale cost! It was a crazy closeout situation and we grabbed what we could. The Rojo is so rare (and previously so expensive) that we hadn’t tasted it either. Ask nicely in the shop and there might be a taste for you too. Also, significant discounts on the last of our WhistlePig SmokeStock, WhistlePig RoadStock, and Silvano Bomida Barolo 2019 and Silvano Bolmida Riserva 2016, one our favorite Nebbiolo producers. The Sale of Sales marches on!
