Whoa Free Rangers,
Way behind this week. More than usual. We just lost two days to insane connectivity issues- two real two steps back kind of days- but seems to be back up and running now. Though we lost all of our Sonos playlists. Holy cr@p, that’s bad software, but the speakers still sound great (when they work). Now, back to your previously scheduled transmission already in progress.
INT. The Shop – Last Wednesday – Night
It was spoken in hushed breath (as not to arouse the fates) to Jo that it had been the least touristy- and most local neighborhood friends (and dogs!)- shop population in a notable stretch. And this trend rode pretty well through the weekend. It was delightful. While we rarely close on time anyway, that evening ended later than usual for a school night (I know there’s no school in the summer), culminating in the final visit of a couple of long time neighborhood friends before moving to Philly the next morning- unlike several previous ‘probably last visits’ during that week. We talked about wine, geography, and life over a couple of exquisite glasses of very rare CA reds (Sean Thackrey Orion 1986 and Ridge Merlot Torre Vineyard 2016). Always bittersweet seeing good neighborhood folks move on, a little too far away to make regular in-store tastings anymore. Philly ain’t that far, but we also can’t legally ship there. Regardless, sharing is still half the fun.
Now, this week’s rapidly approaching in-store tasting welcomes back to the shop our good buddy, Rob from St. George Spirits. I’m not entirely sure what he’s showcasing, but there will be some form of a seasonal cocktail and otherwise clear spirits. We’ve taken to letting our most trusted reps show whatever they feel like, which is how we ended up with that crazy Bob Singlar red that we can barely keep on the shelf. Of course we’ll be showing our own St. George Free Range Exclusive Cask Strength Gin; and I’m sure if you ask nicely, Rob will have a pour of some rare St. George Single Malt Whiskey for you (whether or not it is visible on the table). So, please join Rob & our crew tomorrow, Thursday July 17th (5-7pm), for FREE tastes of some lovely St. George spirits. As usual on tasting day, please enjoy 10% off ALL in-stock St. George bottles in-store on tasting day only!
And the Sale of Sales rolls on. A few cherries have been picked to extinction, but many more best price in town deals remain! Newest additions include Buffalo Trace White Dog Wheated Mash, Green Chartreuse, and a couple of our favorite Oregon Chard(s).
