Chaos Free Rangers,
It’s a little weird being (an increasingly usual) two days behind on the Monday e-mail (I suppose it could just be called the Wednesday e-mail, at this point), while watching online orders roll in as if said e-mail had already gone out. Not complaining, just noticing. Thanks to all of you folks ordering online, local and out of state. Boxes are being packed and shipped as I type. The reasons for the perpetual tardiness of prose here is tied inexorably to the existential dread brought on by the general badness of the macro. I know multiple folks who have been on varying degrees of news blackout. And it’s hard to blame them, as one who is reasonably (to unreasonably) plugged in. We will all be feeling reverberations and ramifications of our governments aggression around the world for many years to come. It’s becoming difficult to even engage with the senseless reality of it. I recall having similar feelings under Bush the Junior, which now seems a benign and naive time for chaos, if not for the obvious war crimes. Though if any of said war criminals had ever done a little time, the floodgates would never have had the opportunity to open like this. But nary a new administration seeks to be the next prosecuted former administration, so here we are through the low bigotry of profound cowardice. Looking ahead is great, but sometimes it’s necessary to prosecute the past, and maybe a Cheney or a Rumsfeld, just so it’s on the board as a possibility in the future. But that train has long since sailed. So, who else needs a drink?
Now, this week’s FREE in-store tasting is with our feisty friend, Svetlana, who will be here to pour you 3 bottles by Brooklyn’s own Breuckelen Distilling. It is no secret that we have long been of the belief that Brad is one of the best distillers in New York, and we continue to shelf everything he distills that we can get our hands on, and a brand new micro production release just walked in the door. Please join us TOMORROW, Thursday, March 19th (5-7pm) for FREE tastes of Breuckelen Glorious Gin, Breuckelen 77 Local Rye & Corn Whiskey, and the just landed Breuckelen 77 Bonded 7yr Rye Whiskey. All of the above are 10% off in-store on tasting day only!
Speaking of local bottles, Derek posted a page including the four Red Hook Winery wines we showed at last week’s in-store tasting: Chardonnay, Cab Franc, Petite Verdot, and Black & Blue– the Bordeaux style blend. All are 10% off, or 20% off 6+ bottles (mix & match). Full tasting notes and sale pricing available on the sale page below.

Also still live is the sale page for the unreasonably delicious Chablis of Jean Dauvissat, from this balanced and beautiful vintage of 2023. We really can’t say enough about the quality per dollar and the attention to detail of these tiny production classic French Chardonnay(s). Click the link below for specifics on each of the three explosively serene 1er Cru wines, but the discounts break down like this: 10% off all, 25% off mixed 6-pack!
