It’s difficult to overstate how demoralizing it can be to have amassed the kind of wine collection (and knowledge) that I have when 9 out of 10 questions over the last 3 months have been one of these: 1) What do you have that’s cold? 2) Do you have this one cold? 3) Where do you keep your wine that’s already cold? And so on like this. Some days it feels like the only topics of questioning are entirely temperature based. Tourist season can be tough. While we’re profoundly lucky that intersecting quirks of this neighborhood, our people, and this place allow us to not see quite the level of summer downturn as much of the retail community in this godforsaken town, such that our numbers remained sound throughout the doggiest of the days, summer has been a _______ (wrong answers only). July in particular was special; and not that delicious Special Reserve type special. Thanks as always to you fine neighborhood folks- and your wonderful furry friends- for getting us through it in a minimal number of pieces.
