Hola Free Rangers,
I’m mostly kidding about the subject line. As someone who has deep and abiding affection for his wine and whiskey, I know it is important to take considered time off now and again, even if just to make sure that one still can. I was fairly lucky to have just taken more than a month off (even from coffee, for the most part) before I came down with Covid at the very beginning of the pandemic. Though I haven’t seen specific data on the matter, I feel that I had an easier time- particularly from the fairly stark mental health effects- for going into it a bit more clear headed, and with internal processes running a little cleaner. Of course things got pretty dark anyway, so who knows.
The point is that it’s definitely a good thing to take time off the sauce to clear your head and your liver. But on behalf of friendly neighborhood booze peddlers everywhere, do you really all need to do that at the same time? I mean c’mon people, don’t let some catchy slogan tell you when not to drink. Be original. Pick your own month! I hear great things about March and April. Life hack: February has fewer days. Also, even if you’re doing Dry Schmanuary, whiskey doesn’t go bad**, but the sale prices below will go away. And if it’s too much of a temptation to have a new bottle around this month, we’re happy to hold your purchased bottle(s) for pick up in February. **There are a small handful of ways whiskey can go bad, including being left in the sun, or a bottle being left open too long.
Thanks for the great response to the crazy whiskey sale list, and apologies to those who missed some of those rarer bottles by minutes (or seconds). And enormous thanks to one repeat customer who proved profoundly honorable and let us know immediately that he had paid for EH Taylor Single Barrel, and got home to find the much pricier Barrel Proof in his bag. We offered to deliver the correct bottle and swap it out, but he opted to keep the rarer bottle and pay the difference. I know we have a lot of great people here, but sometimes need a reminder from something like this that there really are a lot of high quality humans pulling for us, which is why we’re still here. Thanks again, Jonathan, and to the rest of our people.
But I digress. So, we’ve added an extra bottle of a couple of the sold out items from last week’s insane whiskey sale list and included a few new SKUs including Collingwood 21 Year Canadian Rye, the full line of Buffalo Trace Kosher whiskeys, and a bunch of newer Japanese whiskeys (some of which are 10 and 15 years old, finished in Mizunara barrel). And for those looking for a lower cost bargain, we’ve added a bunch of new items to our Super Sale Page, including the full line of Buffalo Trace White Dog whiskeys, Blackened Empire State, and Tin Cup 10 Year.
Check ‘em out!
