Holy Crow Free Rangers,
What the hell was that? I think they’re calling it 2023. From our vantage point it appears in memory like a wooded area of the northeast corridor from the Acela train at full bore. With the move, and the Liquor Board holding us (and every other license seeking entity in the state) up for many months, it was an arduous and taxing one on every level. We wouldn’t have made it without all of you. And the ultimate day of one of our roughest/most successful years culminated on the final day of December, which saw us break a sales record for the day, set in the last of The Before Times (12/31/2019), and the jackass factor was mercifully low. Besides the one random whiskey bro who opened with a backhanded compliment (regarding a bottle he had no intent to purchase) and then wanted to have a full debate over American Bourbon pricing, it was a solid and reasonably experienced crowd for Rookie Night 2023. Can’t recall exactly the set of words that caused said whiskey dude to flash some discontented side-eye and bail, but it was apparently effective and worth it. Made it easier to forget the one star review (calling me a Nazi) we got as a Christmas gift from a couple of stoned idiots, one of whom is apparently an “Elite” Yelper. Hey, Laurence, you tiny brain tiny man, you are willfully creating free content for a billion dollar corporation, and for what? Get a real hobby, grow a real life, and definitely don’t come back here ever again (#pathetic). Where were we? Right, grateful to everybody besides those two vindictive jackasses. So, thanks! NYE was a solid end to that tumultuous vintage, and really eased the tension to begin this Soggy January. Really wanted to link some clever content to ‘Soggy January’ but could only find unironic mediocre writing on the topic. Where’s The Onion when you need it?!
