So Free Rangers,

We need to talk. Please stop forwarding these e-mails to your friends without the caveat that they actually need to read them- and join the list themselves- to enjoy our rarest items at the best prices. Because some of your friends are coming in being total dicks. While word of mouth is always the best advertising, it seems a lot of people are being forwarded our e-mails and told we “are good” without qualification, which causes your curt whiskey bro buddies to pop in the shop once, take a brief look around (clocking prices on a few arbitrary visible products), not ask any questions, and go home to report to their idiot Facebook groups that our prices are high. In fact one such jackass did that recently, specifically siting pricing on our exclusive barrel picks, four of which were actively on our various hidden sale pages at seriously reduced prices, linked in the e-mail that one of you forwarded him, which he clearly didn’t bother to read (or click through).

You see, when you throw a party it’s never the friend(s) that you invite who fucks up, it’s the friend(s) that your friend brought (uninvited), who breaks things, monopolizes the best seating, steals shit, spills red wine on the white carpet (holy shit, that was me, I’m so sorry!), or otherwise poops in the proverbial flower garden. So while we very much appreciate that you’re all trying to spread our gospel, please do so with the addendum that we save our best prices and rarest bottles for those who do read e-mails and ask questions, besides, “do you know how much that bourbon costs in New Mexico?” We love you all, but the truth is that many of you have friends who lack the basic requisite focus and reading comprehension skills to grasp the nuance of what we’re trying to do here. We blame Amazon and the greater dumbening that low grade user generated content has caused, incrementally lowering the bar for a couple of decades now, but we’re certainly not making excuses for these guys. The number of bros (and yes, it seems to always be a male person in this scenario, 25-39 years old) who come in these days starting, “I got forwarded this e-mail saying there’s a big whiskey sale here, where is it?” It’s online dude, and it ended two weeks ago. It says so in the second paragraph of that e-mail that you didn’t read; and no, we’re not going to list them all for you verbally, and then roll back the prices by hand. This defeats the purpose of an online only sale. But if you sign up now, you’ll have access next time. You dig?

So, for those of you with the attention span and intent to read this far (thanks for that!) now get to enjoy the fruits of all recent sale pages below, but first, here’s a new one! This week’s FREE in-store tasting and ONLINE sale both feature the lovely agave distillates of Amaras Mezcal.
