Hello Free Rangers,

Thanks to everybody who sold out our Magical Mystery packs (and the Hancock’s Bourbon sale)! We sincerely hope you are enjoying sipping through those selections. Speaking of the cellar, the inventory project has turned up some fun items for the back wall, as have recent auction arrivals, and professional storage pulls. Highlights include some of our favorite properly aged CA bottles like Forman Cabernet 1986, Peay Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2007, Venge Family Reserve Cabernet 2003, Joseph Phelps Late Harvest Riesling 1985, and Ridge Merlot Torre Ranch 2009, as well as a few new vintages of Paolo Bea reds. Come on in and check them out! A very serious collection arrives next week. Watch this space.

Speaking of coming in to the shop, the in-store tasting program is in full swing, and this week welcomes to the shop our buddy, John, from Skin Contact Wines. This Thursday, February 13th (5-7pm), he’ll be here pouring you FREE tastes of a beautiful grower Champagne by Marteaux Guillaume and a pair of old school Georgian skin contact whites. All will be 10% off on tasting day only, 20% off 6+ bottles (mix & match).

Now, as most of you know at some point in the last decade I became somebody’s grandma, and now all I ever want to drink is expensive Chardonnay, by expensive read delicious. As such we drink a disproportionate amount of Chablis and Oregon Chard, the latter of which I believe to be some of the best in the world, and the source of some of the best deals on world class Chard. One that we have been particularly enjoying is Colene Clemens Chardonnay 2019, a small sincere estate project where the Chehalem Mountains converge with Ribbon Ridge in the Willamette Valley. While this is only the third vintage sourced entirely from the estate, it comes off as a delicious expression of place and time. And we thought this wine a wholly satisfying quality per dollar experience at the shelf price of $44, but that was before their local distributor closed them out ahead of the arrival of the new vintage. We snapped up every bottles that remained, and you know how we love to pass on the discount to you, so here is our craziest single vineyard Chard deal of the year to date. Many more details about this beautiful juice on the sale page linked below!

Colene Clemens Chard 2019 is available on the website ONLY now at these discount levels:
