Where do we go now Free Rangers,
Oh, where do we go-o nowww? Wrong answers only. Is that still a thing? I enjoy it. The image that’s presented is conveyed as intended, but the reader is left with a prompt on top of the statement. It’s an implied yes, and- like a tiny wormhole in a one-way mirror. Please join the wackiness at your leisure. And thanks to those who noticed that there was no e-mail last week, and asked. All is well (minus, ya know, the everything), but Derek and I also lost more man hours to technology (and technology companies) this week than in any other in recent memory, but at least it was toward an end of relying more on our internal hardware and recovering cash from clunky add-ons that never worked as advertised. Sometimes life gets in the way, sometimes corporate consolidation gets us down, sometimes it rains.
Now, most wine growers who have been doing what they do for a while know within a reasonable margin how much wine they can sell in a year. So, in the best vintages, when harvests are successful and yields are high, many a barrel (and/or bottled, but unlabeled, cases) go out the back door to savvy negotiants, very often under serious nondisclosure agreements, specifically because these high pedigree wines will end up beneath a different label at about half the shelf price of the original. One such CA Pinot Noir just hit our selves, and it sure drinks like a $40-something Anderson Valley Pinot Noir in a $20-something bottle. But you don’t need to take our word for it when you can come on down to the shop and taste it with us on Thursday (along with some fairly serious Chard and Pinot from Burgundy)!
So, directly related to the above, this week’s FREE in-store tasting welcomes back to the shop our friend, John of Skin Contact Wines, who imports some of our favorite Pinot and Chard in the world per dollar spent, and we just picked up three new ones:
Curio California Pinot Noir 2023
Mauperthuis Petit Chablis 2023
Nicolas Perrault Santenay 2022
You should come join and taste them all on us, this Thursday, October 23rd (5-7pm)! We’ll be pouring aforementioned high pedigree CA Pinot alongside these impeccably farmed and vinified Burgundies that will also speak for themselves on your palate. And not only are all of the above 10% off in-store on tasting day (20% off any 6+ btls), but are also 10% off all week on the website ONLY! Also, 20% off any 6+ bottles (mix & match) on the sale page:
