| I Know Free Rangers, I know. I’m as disgusted with myself a… You know, I wrote this thing for this space that discussed two things that I always mock in crappy marketing and tedious conversations: the season and the weather (hence the aborted disgust). It was reasonably funny, and self-deprecating, and contained a decent observation or two about our place and time, but I’m just not feeling it at the moment. The truth this time. As I was trying to find the source of a leak (or three) on an incline roof, in the rain, at 11pm two nights ago, having lost two of my favorite pens climbing through the ceiling hatch, I mused to myself: I just thought buying and selling wine might be a neat thing to do for a living. And in such a moment, what considered nerd wouldn’t be forced to ask oneself: “Well, how did I get here?” I know I’m not the only Brooklynite who during the deluge of the last few days discovered new rivers, lakes, and the occasional waterfall indoors where they don’t belong. As such I’m desperately awaiting a highly recommended roofer, who is apparently in high demand. Must be nice. Every moving part in the project is turning, but at infinitesimal pace, and is starting to feel as expensive as one of Elon’s exploding rockets. It’s always something you know. And yet, we plow forth…. “And yet,” two words that, to one degree or another, plague us all. Wait, what were we talking about? While we’re not in the new space, and haven’t held any of the anniversary festivities we had planned, we’re gonna go ahead with a slow motion avalanche take on what was going to be a series of coordinated tastings and online sales. So, welcome to our biggest ever ONLINE rare whiskey sale! It has no name and serves no other purpose. Instead of a country and category based series, we’ve posted a single page by category, to which we will keep adding and we’ll shoot you a note each time we do. The first tranche is a stunning tranche (which is also the new name of my indy band), including some of the rarest and most sought whiskeys in the world, alongside some mostly extinct tiny production bottles, and a few back bottles from the Free Range Barrel Program archives. Not going to drop any names, but there are some big ones, all listed below and pictured on the sale page, with many more to be added! Happy hunting. *** First come, first served, ONLINE ONLY!!! *** (!) Click here for the full sale list (!)
