I’ve definitely got it. But what it is remains to be seen. And then we’ll see what remains of the scene. And, scene.
Okay, I’m too jazzed about this one for any further pretense. Through the largess of our buddy Mike at Travel Bar, we found ourselves in line for one of only 14 barrels of Old Forester Barrel Strength Bourbon to grace our fair distribution region this year. Thanks Mike! As I have mentioned many times before, Travel Bar is basically the only place I drink whiskey besides my house and my shop. Just knowing that they’re actually pouring you what it says on the bottle is a rarer luxury than most fully understand. If you are a whiskey nerd and you haven’t been, you won’t believe the selection or pricing. Go there now! Well, not right now. It’s early and they’re not open yet. Unrelated, if any owners of those other 13 barrels are reading here, we’d love to trade a bottle or two of our barrel pick for the same of yours! Sharing is half the fun.
We’ve got barrels in the works from Kings County, Sazerac, and 1792 for later this year, but today we unveil our Old Forester Free Range Barrel Proof Bourbon! At just shy of 130 proof, it shows a tad hotter than where I generally like to sip. A healthy splash of water goes a long way to soothe the bite and bring forward the caramel and citrus. It’s delicious, and the palate is a long and complex one. We’re enormously proud of the selection, and invite you all in for a taste. We’re still not hosting formal in-stores, but an open bottle and available water back await whenever you next stroll by.
Old Forester Free Range Barrel Strength Bourbon just hit the shelf at $159, but is first available here to you at $109 per bottle! *** limit 2 per customer ***
