K Vintners Syrah The Beautiful 2012

Tasting notes: "Feminine, deep and compelling. First off a beautiful fragrance of black plum, exotic spice, toasted brioche. Luxurious and sexy with a palate anchored with crushed rock, wet earth and garrigue. Always beautiful"

Vineyards: "The vineyards we work with are farmed using the most up to date sustainable practices."

Riverrock: "Owned and farmed by Dana Dibble, planted in 2001. The site is located south of Walla Walla in the old Walla Walla River bed; the soil is rocky and with great drainage. The clone of Syrah sourced is Tablas Creek, which thrives in the big river stone cobble. This is the warmest site in the Walla Walla valley."

Vintage: "2012 was a prototypical perfect Washington vintage, a warm spring and summer that led into a crisp dry fall. The Beautiful is a single vineyard, Cote Rotie style co-ferment, where the Syrah and Viognier grow side by side and are harvested together from Riverrock vineyard."
