Structured by the cool microclimate of Alexander Valley in northern Sonoma. Full of ripe plum, red wild berry, mocha, and baking spice. Traditionally made and only lightly fined and filtered after aging in French oak.

Cabernet Franc from the Loire Valley, with crunchy red fruits and subtle herbal complexity. Bright acidity and silky tannins make it exceptionally versatile at the table.

The 2023 Grenache Blanc Paso Robles is bright and fresh, especially for a rich variety grown in a hot climate. Dollops of Picpoul and Roussanne round out the blend. Marzipan, white peach and mint introduce a wine with an enticing texture. Lithe and energetic, it fills out the mid-palate with joyful fruit.

This wine is rich and indulgent, with a gorgeous gold hue. The aromatics exude tropical fruit with hints of pear and vanilla bean. On the palate this wine is full and plush, carrying through the tropical notes from the nose, alongside lemon peel and a touch of spice.

Exotically perfumed black and blue liqueur, incense and candied licorice scents, along with woodsmoke, olive and exotic spice overtones. Seamless and expansive on the palate, offering concentrated blackberry, boysenberry and cherry cola flavors that show outstanding energy and mineral lift. Rich yet lively in style, displaying slow-building tannins on a strikingly long, focused finish. 

Attractive aromas of ripe cherries, dried strawberries, dried orange peel, spices and crushed stones, following through to a medium to full body with compact tannins that are firm and finely grained. Smooth and textured with vivid fruit underneath and a lingering finish. From organically grown grapes.

This garnet wine reveals aromas of ash and plum marmalade, with a faintly herbal core and hints of oaky cedar. Dry and lean, the fairly chalky texture lingers long, concluding with a compact, flavorful and lasting finish. The 2012 is a beautiful old-school Rioja.

The 2015 Bianco Arboreus bursts from the glass with a rich and nearly tropical mix of green melon, papaya and sweet mint. It coasts along the palate with glycerol-like textures that are perfectly balanced by saline-mineral tones, as ripe orchard fruits and sweet spices cascade across its juicy acid core. 

This is a memorable wine, with enticing and complex aromas of gorgeous ripe fruit accented by cedar, tea and forest floor. The palate echos the aromas with vibrant and rich flavors, while the mouthfeel is firm and bolstered by fine-grained tannins.

The vibrant, high-toned Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles is elegant, finesseful and slow to reveal itself. Be sure to use a good large glass. The wine has a dark, saturated ruby color, nearly purple at the center, then cools to bright fuchsia just at the edge. Fresh aromas of black and red fruit, including ripe wild cherries, raspberry preserves, and crushed pomegranate suffuse the nose, along with fresh white tobacco, dried geraniums, and a faint suggestion of freshly crushed pine bark. 

The 2019 Rosso de Veo is intense, with a burst of dried black cherries, autumnal spices and rubbed sage. This is a dark and brooding vintage for Veo, with depths of ripe red and blue fruit propelled by zesty acidity. Saline minerals saturate, and a primary concentration forms toward the close. It finishes dramatically long and tannic, yet they are round and soft contoured. 

The 2019 Montefalco Rosso Riserva Pipparello smolders up with a hauntingly dark bouquet of grilled herbs, cloves, flowery undergrowth and dried black cherries. This mixes silken textures with a wonderfully graceful feel, showing vividly pure red berry fruits and a cascade of spices, all offset by a tinge of sour citrus. 

As the name of his wine suggests, Laurent Lignier gets his fruit from three different parcels – Les Porroux, Clos Solon and Les Chenevery – to make a super village cuvée. Stylish and well balanced, it’s made with 25% stems and 20% new wood. It’s wonderfully scented and pure with a long, sappy finish.

Generous and golden nose, showing ripe fruit, some honey and buttery notes in a mellow style. Bright on the palate with a lively frame, excellent intensity and some bite.

You won’t find reviews for this wine on Vivino or Wine.com, because we bought the entire lot. It isn’t available anywhere else in the world. Only 240 bottles were produced, and it’s freakin’ delicious, with serious aging potential to boot. Each bottle is numbered and signed by winemaker, André Hueston Mack.

The 2007 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard is one of the more fruit-driven, open-knit wines in this vertical. Juicy and up-front, the 2007 is drinking well today and should continue to hold for at least another decade. The style is forward and silky, with soft tannins that add to an overall impression of creaminess.
