Oh Man Free Rangers,

The whiskey bros are back in force. Three times in the last two days, guys came in asking piles of questions including about items they admitted shortly thereafter that they knew hadn’t yet been released in this market, and telling long winded stories nobody asked them about. Claiming they were seeking information, one of them interrupted me three times, twice to say the same thing. They asked for multiple tastes of rare whiskeys (which were obliged), and when I explained that most of our rarest items are reserved for our our e-mail listers they signed up, but didn’t actually buy anything, an act that would have recognized that a shop like ours stays in business by making actual sales. One asked how late we were open- after saying how nice it was to get to taste things before buying them- and pretended that he was going to come back, but betrayed his own intentions and awkwardly caught himself doing it when he left with a, “have a good day… I mean, I might see you later.” We did not see him later, he just wanted some free knowledge, free entertainment, and a free buzz. Don’t tell me how nice it is to get to taste before you buy, when no buying was ever on your agenda. We don’t pay the rent with vague praise

I would be mortified to go into a small business and treat people this way, with zero intent to support said business, but most of them do it multiple times daily. This is part of their hobby, and they believe it is their right. The hubris of these jackasses really knows no bounds. But we do live in a country that regularly rewards shamelessness, so maybe I’m the idiot for having and demanding integrity and respect. But they know who they are, as do we, and if they put in an order for anything too precious, rare, or discounted, the order may very well be canceled. We reserve the right, and all. The point isn’t just to be on the list guys, it’s to support our business, which earns you access. Not everybody has to buy an irreplaceable $1k bottle, but the difference between picking up a $39 bottle of Sazerac Rye and nothing at all is the difference between you saying that you get that we’re working hard to run a decent shop or that you genuinely don’t care whether we live or die (in the material world). Seriously, who raised you? Have your mother call me: 718.643.2250

So anyway, we’ve got some great whiskeys on sale below, for you faithful listers, and new usurpers alike. A handful of standard issue, a few local (three of those are fairly scarce), and a bunch of limited bottles listed below, but you’ll have to click through the link to see pricing.
