| Hey Free Rangers, As we all trudge toward the end of a year that seems a hair better than its collective worst case scenario, we at Free Range Wine would like to thank you for being part of our little corner of the world. It’s been a hell of an adjustment on everyone since the close of Before Time, and we really miss the general frivolity of those days and the copious in store tastings. But then again, these communications here wouldn’t have become what they have under the previous normal. Sure it’s a faint sliver of silver on one king hell of a cumulonimbus, but getting by is still the new kicking ass, and under the circumstances, we’ll take it. But it sure would be nice to be setting up our annual Schrampagne tasting/sale extravaganza…. maybe that’ll be next week’s sale. Thanks to everyone who responded so quickly to our latest Kings Co sale and new single barrels, and apologies to those of you who didn’t get in on the high proof FR11 in .750s. Some do still remain in the small format 200ml. And for this week’s online only sale, we’re leaving live all remaining Kings Co bottles (a number have sold out), and we have added one new exclusive single barrel from our buddy, Brad, at Breuckelen Distilling. Breuckelen Distilling has been in operation since the first new distillery licenses were issued in NYC a little over a decade ago. They may produce some of the best and oldest micro-distilled whiskeys in the country, but Brad is even worse at self-promotion than I am, and with their tiny total production, I am always amazed at how many whiskey aficionados have yet to try them out. The latest barrel in question is this one: Breuckelen Barrel Strength Single Malt 6yr Rum Cask, which clocks in at 130 proof. It just hit the shelf at $89 (already a steal by current market standards), but this week only we’re offering them to you at $69 per bottle. We’ve got 16 6-packs to sell. Happy hunting!
