Here’s The News That’s Fit to Print Free Rangers,
It’s difficult to understand these virulent anti-maskers (pun intended) that I keep seeing on the Twitter. An interchangeable CNN talking head attempted a genuine debate with one of them, and after the usual hollow freedom of choice nonsense (most of these same people are anti-choice in regards to women’s healthcare) the anti-masker blusters, “You love wearing masks!” Does anybody really believe that? I suppose if my mental process were two dimensional enough to only take pleasure in the discomfort of my perceived enemies (and I were a textbook narcissist), I would assume that anything you want me to do, you actively enjoy. This just in: nobody enjoys wearing a mask all the time, not even healthcare workers who refuse to get the vaccine. And don’t get me started on that one (or the shockingly low percentage of cops that are vaccinated). Sigh… The local numbers aren’t terrible, but the national numbers aren’t great. Anybody saying the pandemic is over- when the virus took another 1,300 Americans again yesterday- needs to find a more nuanced opinion. While we are seeing some numbers that indicate the delta variant wave may have peaked, we are going to err on the side of caution, and have stopped booking in-store tastings for the time being. So this Thursday will be the last hurrah. Let’s talk about that.
Most of you are at least somewhat familiar with our local friends, St. Agrestis, as we carry everything they bottle. Starting off as a single product Amaro purveyor, they currently also make Inferno Bitter (Red Aperitif), the brand spankin’ new Paradiso Aperitivo (Orange Aperitif), the world’s first single-serving bottled Negroni (not to be confused with Campari’s undrinkable 1L monstrosity), a delicious canned Spritz, and a seasonal line of bag-in-box cocktails. I love Louis and his delicious elixirs, but I also just realized that he put ‘Aperitivo’ and ‘Aperitif’ on the same label, which is almost unforgivable. But I think we’ll still let him come to the shop and pour you FREE tastes of several, if not all, of the above tomorrow, Thursday (4-6pm). Come taste, before we suspend in-store tasting!
