Well Hey Free Rangers,

A lot going on this week, so let’s get right to business. More stories next week, I promise(ish).

So, Turkey Day (week) hours look like this:

          Monday:         11am – 8:30pm
          Tuesday:         11am – 9pm
          Wednesday:   11am – 9pm
          Turkey Day:    11am – 2pm
          Friday:            12:30pm – 8:30pm

As we do expect high volume between now and your likely Turkey Coma (or Tofurkey Coma), please consider getting your wine shopping done early. To incentivize this, we’ve put together 4 Turkey Day 6-packs at highly favorable pricing, as well as a handful of deeply discounted Magnums. I know these big bottles seem daunting, but it really is just 2 bottles worth in one, and they are openable with a standard corkscrew, plus they make a lovely addition to any centerpiece! Come ‘n’ get ’em….

Your Turkey Day 6-pack options are these:

Classic Pairings Pack: Our Classic Pairings pack starts with our all-time best deal in French bubbles, the delightfully dry and fresh Collin Cremant NV. Kumeu Village Chardonnay 2021 is a medium bodied Burgundian style white from New Zealand. Sean Minor Pinot Noir 2020 is a-typically light and fresh by CA standards, with a nice dry finish. Three Wine Co Zinfandel 2019 is a classic bold but balanced CA red, and a long established top Turkey Day pairing here. A step darker still is our best selling CA Cab Joey Tensley Fundamental Cabernet 2020. And we close this one out with the best deal in Port wine we’ve come across this year, Morgadio da Calçada (Niepoort)  LBV 2016, a deliciously luscious sweet classic Portuguese red. ***Click the box above ‘Add to Cart’ button to swap out Port for a dry Magical Mystery bottle of similar value.

Freaks & Geeks: This 6-pack is for those who prefer the more natural and funkier side of the wine game. First, choose your own adventure via the drop menu on the website to pick red or white Channing Daughters PetNat, both dry food friendly bubbles. Anapea Village Rkatsiteli Rose 2020 is a classic dry Georgian orange/amber wine with a typically tannic finish. Scotty Boy The Hand That Klongs 2021 is from the other side of the orange wine coin in that it’s all about that big bright zippy acidity on the citrusy side of earthy. Perennial favorite natural Italian red Unlitro 2021 is a full liter of super lively medium bodied red juice that plays equally well at room temp as chilled from the fridge. L’Arge d’Oor Red Blend 2019 is a most delicious but profoundly a-typical Bordeaux blend, from minimal intervention, and long maceration, comes this fleshy yet vibrant medium bodied red. One of Oregon’s finest (and one of our very favorite) winemakers, Kelley Fox, in 2020 produced and otherworldly medium sweet Vermouth from a base of Pinot Noir and largely foraged herbs and aromatics; serve chilled before and/or after dinner. ***Click the box above ‘Add to Cart’ button to swap out Vermouth for a dry Magical Mystery bottle of similar value.

The Elegant Turkey Table: For those seeking elevated juice at a reasonably attainable fee, we open the show with Schramsberg Blanc de Blanc (Schrampagne!) which is delicious dry Méthode Champenoise from one of CA’s oldest winegrowers. Brittan Chardonnay 2015 is a classic Oregon Chard with the soul of a white Burgundy several times its price. Lafarge Vial Fleurie Clos Vernay 2019 is a delicious medium bodied Cru Beaujolais showing the fruit and florals typical to the region’s best Gamay. Leroy Bourgogne Gamay 2019 is a darker denser take on Gamay Noir grown in Burgundy proper by an absolute legend. Camparo Barolo Boiolo 2016 is our go-to mid-range 100% Nebbiolo which is a subtle bone dry medium bodied food pairing red finishing with deceptive tannic length. Morgadio da Calçada (Niepoort) Vintage Port 2011 is a profound dealin classic vintage Port from one of the best vintages of our lifetime(s). ***Click the box above ‘Add to Cart’ button to swap out Port for a dry Magical Mystery bottle of similar value.

Top Shelf Turkey Day: Behold our top picks for delightfully fancy-pants Turkey Day pairings, which begins with Billecart-Salmon Rosé Champagne, one of the world’s classic celebratory bubbles. Leroy Bourgogne Blanc 2019 is a chiseled and surprisingly deep limestone forward white from one of Burgundy’s most sought after producers (who was way ahead of the biodynamic curve). Rebholz Riesling Kastanienbusch GG 2012 is a naturally made mineral driven bone dry Riesling by one of central Europe’s true masters, from his top vineyard site. Burguet Vosne Romanée Rouges du Dessus 1er 2015 is everything most of us want in classic red Burgundy, lush but balanced medium bodied Pinot Noir of depth and character from a tiny producer in a banner vintage. Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is from a legendary one man show; this bold balanced full bodied classic Napa Cab is deep and enveloping that’s drinking unusually well for its relative youth. Kracher Chardonnay Trockenbeerenauslese #7 Nouvelle Vague 1999 (375ml) is a properly aged sweet white that easily stands up to the very best Sauternes (looking at you, d’Yquem), vinified by one of the world’s finest producers of dessert wine, Alois Kracher, whose tenure on Earth ended in 2006. A super rare sweet treat from the hands of a dead genius. ***Click the box above ‘Add to Cart’ button to swap out dessert wine for a dry Magical Mystery bottle of similar value.
