While this current era is punctuated by a losing of time, working too many daytime hours in the confines of the cellar further confounds this phenomenon, and my perception is unwilling to accept that it’s been a week since we last spoke (here). A major cellar re-org is underway which was long overdue before before minor flooding rendered formerly load-bearing corrugated cardboard cases into loose masses of mushy paper pulp. Compared to what some people here in Brooklyn and in Queens suffered, we got off pretty easy. And it’s so tight with stacks of boxes down there that the towers that fell over had nowhere to go but to lean up against other stacks. It was kind of a Seussian scene, minus the whimsy and merriment. But not a single bottle was lost to the concrete floor. Very lucky indeed. But it was/is a bit of a mess, and the percentage of underground hours have further tweaked my already fragile sense of time. However, this will lead to the imminent Magical Mystery offer from said cellar finds. Watch this space.
Status quo around here, regarding policies and practices. Seeing some rough numbers in other states, and daunting rumblings of new variants, but we remain amongst the highest percentage vaccinated communities in the country, and masks remain optional in the shop for those who are vaccinated.
