A Long December Free Rangers,
Everybody good? Still here (there & everywhere)? Well aware that they’ve all been weird ones since (well before) the Before Times, but it’s been a weird one. The guide stones and mile pegs of the previous half century feel now so incongruent to all concurrent contexts, here in the desert of the real, as we collectively careen toward the inexorable conclusion to this foul year of our lord, 2025. A slow motion train wreck on a high speed rollercoaster going backwards, in photonegative, sepia tone, matte finish, slightly off-cut, and deliberately poorly framed, unmatted, under plexiglass, beneath bad lighting, from the viewpoint of this shortest day of the year. But getting by is still the new kicking ass here at street level, and thanks to all of you, we’ve enjoyed another successful vintage here at the cosmically inclined corner of Atlantic & Hoyt. This during the period of the greatest decrease in Americans identifying as drinkers in just shy of a century. Well, I personally believe I can see Fort Worth from here. Do you smell what I’m stepping in? Not always great at thank you’s, but fairly certain that’s the punchline here. Keep on rockin’ in new year. Whether or not you intend (and/or succeed) in dry January, we’ll look forward to seeing you on the flip side, if not during this last week and change of time lapse blur. Cheers, friends!
So, coupla notable price drops on two of best American rye whiskeys currently available, Old Forester Single Barrel Rye and Michter’s Barrel Strength Rye. Generally, we can only acquire through the proper channels 1-3 bottles at a time of such sought after juice, but occasionally at the end of the year larger quantities are quietly slipped into open inventory where unrepentant hoarders like ourselves will scoop ‘em up. So we thought it only fair to offer them at the $109 and $139 respectively- what they would/should cost, if we could get a reasonable amount- as opposed to the usual $199-300. We bought some of said OF Ryre, opened one to taste it, and bought a bunch more, and that’s all she wrote for the annual supply. No coupon code, no purchasing requirements, just lowest price around on the website and in the shop. We’ve still got that bottle of the Old Forester Rye open in the shop, so please feel free to come by and ask for a taste (but if we’re slammed at that time, please be patient). We’ve got about 3 cases to sell at that price, so please don’t sleep on it.
And rather than another nerdy/fun ONLINE ONLY sale for a specific label this week, we thought it would be better for all involved to just bump up the usual online discounts on all wine in-stock for the rest of the year. Any 6+ bottles of wine gets you 10% Off, and/or 15% off 6+ of the same wine. No codes, no page of selected items, just hit the website and start clicking! We’ll have those ready for pick-up or local delivery asap:
