Hey Free Rangers,

More stories next week, for now if you’d like to read our public reply to our most recent 1-star review, you can do that here: An Ode to Chloe Smith (a totally real, absolutely not made up person?).

For our ONLINE ONLY sale this week we’ve got a two-fer which includes our regularly scheduled wine sale- of exceptional Oregonian Pinot that’s unavailable anywhere else in the world- and a completely unexpected massive drop of one of our very favorite limited bourbon(s) from last year, on which we are now offering the lowest price in 100 mile radius. More on these and applicable links below.

But first, according to our calendar we’ve got an in-store tasting this week with several of our go-to sakes. Well, at least one or two of our go-to sakes and a player to be named later. Uncertain at this moment. Derek is working on it. So this Thursday, April 10th (5-7pm), please join us for a round of tasty sakes to be named later. And all of said sakes are 10% off, in store on tasting day only!

Now, as many of you know, we buy the occasional barrel at the annual Willamette Valley Pinot Auction. These barrels are always one-offs, such that the purchased lot contains every bottle of that wine for the vintage. It’s as exclusive as it gets. As the most recent one was snuck quietly on the back shelf without much fanfare, and it does already have a quiet following, we thought we should offer a bit of a much delayed intro discount on the lovely juice for those of you who have not yet tasted. While the producer is listed as Winderlea, an excellent Pinot estate in its own right, the consulting winemaker on this one was our friend, Robert Brittan, of Brittan Vineyards, whose Pinot and Chard have been staples around here for years. It is of our opinion that our exclusive Winderlea Pinot Noir On Its Own Roots 2022 is the most elegant and lightly but pervasively floral of any juice he has yet bottled. And since we also have about (the last) 60 bottles on Earth of our exclusive Maison Noir Lamb of God Pinot Noir 2019, but well known wine guru (and exceedingly fun human person with whom to drink), André Mack. While absolutely delicious today, this one has enough tannin in back to go the distance (at least another decade of graceful aging ahead). We really couldn’t be more proud of be able to offer you these wines.

As an added bonus, one of our favorite limited Bourbons of last year became briefly unlimited, before vanishing from the wholesale market, and we grabbed every bottle that wasn’t nailed down of Old Forester 1924 10 Year Bourbon! If you were to look it up quintessential Kentucky Bourbon in the dictionary, there would be a picture of this exact flavor, coming right in at a gentleman’s 100°. If your dictionary doesn’t have pictures of flavors, perhaps you’re not viewing through your third eye. And since we have more than anybody else, of a delicious bourbon of which we received about 7 bottles in the previous 16 months, we are now offering the lowest price in the known universe on the website at $119 (previously $199), but you can click below to activate coupon code and add up to 6 bottles to your cart @ an additional $10 off ($109/btl)!
